Was yet another slow start today, started with a full greasing for the car and then packed up, loaded everything and found a cafe for breakfast. No need to hurry madly as it is only 206 kilometres today.

That said, I was planning backroads travel, twisty back roads through hills and such, which is about 350 kilometres. After the drive from Canberra to Tamworth, I decided that we were too underpowered for any more hill climbing, so we took the highways instead. I am not really sure if that was a time saver either, the traffic here is just mad! Cars everywhere, just slowly crawling around, and some of the driving was absolutely appalling. How there aren't more accidents just amazes me!

Anyway, I once went through Brisbane and past the merge from the airport/Gateway traffic the Bruce Highway just flowed along (which is a surprise in itself!). I turned off to get a pic of a mile-point, The Spirit House, just so the car has been there, then trundled the rest of the way to Gympie for a few days break.

Very happy there have been no more head gasket issues, though ordering spares and sorting tyres and inner tubes!
